Croydon is massive with a whole load of different places to suit everyones needs.

Please help by adding feedback and new fabulous places that we have not heard off. Your feedback is appreciated.

Restaurants / Gastro pubs

Some of our favourites include:-

  • The Tree House – Brighton Road, South Croydon -

  • The Captains Table – south croydon (the pate poisoned one of us once though)

  • Yo Sushi – Downstairs in the food area of Centrale -

  • Indian Tapas – also downstairs in the centrale shopping centre worth a mention a good cocktails

  • Fish & Grill – South croydon brighton road again

  • Le Cassoulet – South End, South Croydon

  • Galicia Tapas bar – Brighton Road again

  • Wagamamas – George street roundabout

  • Nandos – High Street, north end

You can see a few guides here

Warlingham green also has a fabulous Curry house plus there are an array of restaurants in Coulsdon, Purley, Kenley, Caterham, Selhurst etc. but we are keeping this guide central for now. Watch this space and don’t forget to recommend.

Bars / Pubs

A mixed collection includes

  • The Green Dragon – Winner of London's Best Live Music Pub 2009 and is located at the top of surrey street – fine ales every day with lots of guest and regular live Jazz and rock banks. Mixed ages and always a very warm welcome from a lovely bunch of staff and the friendly manageress Esther.

  • All Bar One – by the George street roundabout – you know what it’s like, the same as all the others :)

  • The TreeHouse – We think this is one of Croydon’s great dating venues. It is a bar with a great restaurant attached and a club upstairs should you wish to go on dancing later!

  • Walkabout – crown hill – where else to find a classy southern hemisphere cousin – seriously OZ and Kiwi hunk heaven

  • Vintage Bar – surrey street – – we have never been here but it’s all over the web.

  • Black Sheep Bar – brighton road – an old favourite and usually good for music and a good security system

You can see a few guides here too

If theatre or an event is your thing chec out the following established venues in Croydon

  • Fairfield halls

  • Comedy store – Brighton road – south croydon

Croydon has a host of walks and parks for you to enjoy, even in the central area. There are set walks which have an alleyway system linking park to park where you can walk pretty much ingreenery from start to finish from park hill park all the way to the top of shirley hills.

  • Park Hill Park – café in the summer, tennis / basketball courts and kids play area.

  • Lloyd Park – car park and on the tram line. Free parking but you must place a ticket in the window from the machine or you get a ticket.

  • Shirley Hills – has a chinese restaurant and parking but watch out for rustling bushes….

  • Coombe cliff – beautiful managed gardens and a cafe

  • Heathfield Gardens – managed gardens and horses
